Humans being the most diverse race, were quick to disagree with each other and split. A large number of them asked Andralte to move them away from the continent where humans were originally placed, to avoid further conflict and bloodshed. Those who disagreed with the majority of the human race at that time moved to the northeast part of the continent of Caldar and settled there. Thus Aldion was created, by the "exiled" humans of Eratus. Aldion grew to become a powerful nation, both in military and economy, having one of the largest populations of the continent at that time. Poor decisions by the first monarchs led quickly to war with the neighboring kingdom of Darna and hostilities with Razorleaf. The end of those conflicts ended by Aldion joined the Kingdom Alliance of Caldar. The nation has always been a major trading hub of the continent, featuring many kinds of trading goods but also exporting large quantities of food to nearby nations.
Geography
Aldion consists of many plains, grasslands, and swampy areas. That had allowed agriculture to flourish fast, giving Aldion, food to feed themselves and multiple children with ease, as well as exporting the excess to other nations in exchange for other goods or services. Aldion is also the only land that connects Darna with the mainland. Under its border are also four islands to the southeast. Aside from the mountain range that defines its borders, two highrise mountains pierce the central parts of the nation, creating land in between, protected by harsh cold winds from the north and storms from the south. That blessed land was chosen to house the kingdom's capital.
Government
Monarchy has been the regime of Aldion since its founding. The royal bloodline has brought forth ruler after ruler, some made the nation better, and others made it worse. Attempts were made to overthrow kings but always were successful temporarily at best. Humans were quick to follow the lead of anyone they deemed exceptional and destined to rule.
Demographics
Aldion's demographics have changed over the eras. Originally it was humans only that lived there. Over the eras and centuries, half-elves started to live there too, and grew in numbers. During the 4th era about 50% of the population is estimated to be humans, 30% half-elves, 10% halflings, and gnomes, and the rest is divided between dwarves, dragonborn, tieflings, and goliaths.
Relations
2nd era: Hostility with all nearby kingdoms.
3rd era: Entered the Alliance but still had disputes with Ironbeard and Darna. Strong bonds with Lynev and Unified Caldar.
4th era: Peaceful relationships with all neighboring nations.
