Description

Gnomes were one of the first small races. Originally created to be creatures of the mind, rather than of the body, Gnomes were given the drive and means to learn and research. Combined with a lifespan that lasts a quarter of a whole era, those creatures quickly become a core part of the civilized world. Some of them, however, despite their destiny for greatness, choose to live simpler, quieter lives away from those busy centers. Those were later called Forest Gnomes. They possess a natural knack for illusion and inherent quickness and stealth. Forest gnomes are rare and secretive, gathering in hidden communities in elven forests. They utilize illusions and trickery to conceal themselves from threats or to mask their escape should they be detected. Forest gnomes tend to be friendly with other good-spirited woodland folk and they regard elves and good fey as their most important allies. These gnomes also befriend small forest animals and rely on them for information about potential threats that may prowl their lands.

Origins

Gnomes, were created by Iskar who infused them with the mindset of creators, tinkerers, tradesmen, and researchers. Forest gnomes focused more on magic creation and utility rather than tools.

Genetics

Gnomes have strong instincts driving them to create, alter, tinker, analyze and invent. Their morality is spread on all 3 axis of good, neutral and evil and so is their relation with chaos and order. Their bodies were made as small as possible, but big enough to handle tools. Iskar also gave them disproportionally large heads, to house bigger brains needed for inventions.

Lifespan

Gnomes live around 500 years.

Homeland

Lynev

Also found in

Razorleaf, Unified Caldar

Reputation

They are known for their quick wit and playful nature, and their use of illusions and trickery could be seen as mischievous or even deceptive by some. However, their alliances with other good-spirited woodland creatures and their tendency to befriend small forest animals could be seen as endearing and charming by others.

Alive/Extinct

Forest Gnomes exist until the 4th era.
