Welcome to the Lands of Arda

Thirteen fragments, beings with vast power, originating from the Divine Realm, traveled to this newly found planet. These fragments, later known as the major gods, live in the Divine Realm together with other fragments. They called themselves fragments as they believe they all originated from one, all powerful being, that created all universes, but then split. The thirteen fragments were close like siblings and always did things together. The planet when it was found was barren, without life or magic, but it had potential. The one that was first to spot this new planet, named Arda, did not hesitate to detach herself from the Divine Realm and imbue with the planet to give it life and magic. That was seen as a great sacrifice by the other twelve, who knew that their sibling Arda would not be able to return until this planet is no more.

The twelve gods split into three groups, which were later known as Gold (Good), Silver (Evil) and Emerald (Neutral). The groups stayed the same, except from three changes. Dominaria switched from Gold to Silver, Iskar from Emerald to Gold and Oromne from Silver to Emerald. The exact dates of those changes are largely unknown but they are approximated at the end of 1st Era or the early centuries of the 2nd.

From that change and onwards no shifts have been reported. The groups are as following:

Gold (Good)Silver (Evil)Emerald (Neutral)

Maldos

Zeriax

Vermillion

Andralte

Dominaria

Refelia

Iskar

Krevor

Laia

Luthien

Izalith

Oromne

Besides the twelve major fragments, lesser fragments travelled to the world of Arda for various reasons. Other seeking to gain followers, other intrigued by events, other simply by curiosity, others banished from their previous worlds or other seeking refuge from forces that want them perished. These Lesser fragments are not as powerful as the twelve gods and cannot sustain themselves by feeding from multiple plains. They are also referred as "local gods" and such local communities or events is what feeds them. They full extent of their power varies, but many estimate them to be equally strong as the first dragons. Lesser fragments are not widely known, even though they'd wish to be. Even if they could be amassing a large amount of followers, they prefer to be more subtle, to not incur the wrath of major fragments for stealing their energy. Some of the Lesser Fragments work as Patrons, offer power to individuals known as warlocks, in exchange of tasks or worship.

Overview

[Type below:] Write a short (around 100 words) overview of who your character is. Content, written in orange letters like this, will not be visible when you are done. It's simply there to provide guidance]

A man of faith, fully devoted to Oromne and whatever may further the will of his Fragment. Likely more anchored to his natural state than most others of his kin as a way to show his faith, but he too indulges in the changing of his mortal vessel to better do his holy work. He is a deliverer of Vengeance to those who will give offerings to the Hunter, and he uses his more roguish talents and keen intellect to assist his Kin and further the ambitions he holds.

Early Life

[Type below:] Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.) [75 words max] The locations don't have to be named. It can be described. Growing up locations play a role on what your character knows about the area. Some races might have specific locations they came from. If uncertain, ask the DM.
Xavier grew up on the streets of the Faceless City having been abandoned by parents whom had him too young as they fell to their more mischievous natures. He would find himself growing up in the Church of Oromne, merely known as the Abbey. Home now for Xavier is merely the road for he never feels like home has been abandoned for he acts in Oromne's name.
[Type below:] Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now? [75 words max] name at least 2 characters, preferably 3-4, that played an important role in your upbringing.
The Vicar was raised by, primarily, the Bishop of the Abbey by the name of merely Lucas- raising up and instilling within Xavier the fervor towards the Hunter that he has now. There was another 'unofficial' member of the Abbey merely by the name of Wisp who had connections to the underbelly of the Faceless City, teaching Xavier the means to adapt and survive.
[Type below:] How did your attribute scores affect your character? [175 words max] How did your strengths and weaknesses formed your life? For instance, did a 20 STR push you into manual labor, as you could handle it easily? Did a low CON make you often sick and had to travel to the capital for medicine? Did a high CHA make it easy to make friends?
With his meager strength Xavier found it very difficult to do anything that would require more force, but this bled into him learning how to leverage his rather impressive intellect and dexterity to solve the problems he had. Alternative solutions that involved slipping into places unseen or remembering studies he quickly picked up on were commonplace. His average constitution would mean any tasks he did complete had him learn to better pace his own skills, and his wisdom and charisma didn't push him to any heights or find him any difficulties. Overall he was well rounded in those regards but not exceptional.

Defining Events

[Type below:] What made your character obtain the class they have now? [75 words max] Why did you become a Fighter and not a Barbarian? What incident pushed you to your class choice?
To truly be able to adapt and survive where-ever he went, to take up the skillset of Wisp was the clear answer. Wisps teachings of how to move unseen, act quickly with his hands, and to find entry into anywhere he wished- paired with the drive to better serve the Bishop? Like a dutiful son the young Changeling wanted to prove his worth and his faith, leading him to become what he is now.
[Type below:] What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start? [75 words max] In the last 2–3 years, what had your character been doing?
In the most recent years before the campaign start, Xavier was focused on assisting the Bishop in whatever tasks he had needed help around the city. Of course he would do his own.. personal activities on the side, and often preach.
[Type below:] What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers? [120 words max] Nobody decides to endanger themselves without good reason. Were you forced to leave your previous lifestyle? What happened that changed you from a safe job, like a farmer, to an adventurer?
When the chance to quit merely being a contract killer, faithful as he may be, and finally see the outside world? It was a chance for him to further prove himself to Oromne. Such is his greatest goal, to see the world and to enact Vengeance upon a world that had scorned him and his kin for thousands of years. A most holy of missions.
[Type below:] What short/long term goals does your character have? [75 words max] If the world continued in its peaceful state, what would you'd be working towards for?
Xavier is a simple creature. All he desires is to further serve Oromne and spread his faith, while also hunting down any worshipers of Dominaria he comes across. All of this leads to him wanting to become an Exalted of the Hunter's faith.

Relationships

[Type below:] Which people are important for your character? [75 words max] Who does your character consider important at the start of the campaign? Name at least 2 other people
Needless to say, Xavier finds the group he escaped with amongst the most important people he knows. After all, they are the first of their blessed kind to escape the island in thousands of years. Also, of course, the Bishop Lucas and the one known as Wisp in the Faceless City.
[Type below:] What connections do your character have to the other player characters? [175 words max] communicate with the other players and create two positive connections with two other player characters. Could have been friendship, coworkers, family relation or any relation that results in some degree of trust
Xavier had a particular means of connecting to the other Changelings he connected with, that being how his name spread about the underworld. More specifically his moniker as The Huntsman. Whenever one would arrive to the Abbey whenever it was open they had the option to set forth a slip of paper in the donations box of the actual Church. When one would request Vengeance from Oromne, it was the Vicar who was sent to see if such a mission was holy and just-.. and to see it done so a heavy donation could be made to the church. Eventually he would find himself sent more individuals to assist from the behest of rather connected individuals in the Underworld. Eventually this would lead
[Type below:] Name an agreement you have made to another player character that you would honor. [75 words max] Communicate and agree on what agreement your character has made to one of the two other characters (you have connections to), that you wouldn't break.
The agreement that has been made was with Relewiese Duskborn, one sworn before an alter to Oromne- to see that he does not accept any request to hunt one tiefling known as 'Vaasek'. So long as he does not fall to the whims of Dominaria.
[Type below:] What are some good personality qualities that your character has as an adventurer? [75 words max] To ensure that the group doesn't have problematic characters everyone else will hate, tell us why would others trust and like your character as a fellow adventurer
Xavier, when he works with a group, is always a team player. Certainly he has his flaws when it comes to his perceived enemies, but he will work to add properly to a group and to minimize infighting. Also he is rather polite when it comes to it.

Flaws

[Type below:] What has your character done in the past, that they now deeply regret?[75 words max] This is more for plot hooks. It could be a missed opportunity or something they feel bad about.

There was one night where a request came forth to the Abbey, requesting the Vicar to take up Vengeance in the name of another to glorify his sovereign Fragment. Yet that same night he was also given an offer to escort a resplendent cleric of the Church he served, but was too hasty for righteous glory. He never had seen the Cleric since then outside of hearing of a rather brutal murder. Despite the fury Xavier often speaks with of the subject-.. he regrets his foolhardiness of his younger self.

Overview

[Type below:] Write a short (around 100 words) overview of who your character is. Content, written in orange letters like this, will not be visible when you are done. It's simply there to provide guidance]

Garak is a changeling Bard, was born and raised in the grim confines of Outcast Island, a place where all changelings were exiled to hundreds of years ago. It was a prison of its own, an isolated sanctuary for those deemed untrustworthy and dangerous by the rest of the world. For the past several hundred years, Changelings have been subjected to endless oppression, prejudice, and mistrust, confined to their island without any hope of leaving.

Early Life

[Type below:] Where did your character grow up? What place do they call "home" now? (could be the same or different.) [75 words max] The locations don't have to be named. It can be described. Growing up locations play a role on what your character knows about the area. Some races might have specific locations they came from. If uncertain, ask the DM.
Garak grew up in the Faceless City, the largest city on Outcast Island and still lives there today.
[Type below:] Who raised your character and how? What are these people doing now? [75 words max] name at least 2 characters, preferably 3-4, that played an important role in your upbringing.
Garak was raised by his parents, Mirren and Elara.  They were both executed when Garak was 25 when attempting to board a ship bound for Unified Caldar.
Garak was never one for manual labor.  He focused on his many academic studies, and of course his Viol when his studies allowed for it.  He can also be impulsive and at other times aloof as if lost in thought.  He could make friends quite easily, but maintaining close friendships has been very difficult.

Defining Events

[Type below:] What made your character obtain the class they have now? [75 words max] Why did you become a Fighter and not a Barbarian? What incident pushed you to your class choice?

[Type below:] What your character doing in recent years before the campaign's start? [75 words max] In the last 2–3 years, what had your character been doing?
Garak was drawn to the criminal underbelly of society, an environment that offered both danger and opportunity. He found his niche as a "fixer" – a person who could provide solutions to problems, often through means that skirted legality. He became an expert in acquiring and selling valuable information, forging documents, and facilitating discreet transactions.
[Type below:] What motivated your character to leave their previous lifestyle and become adventurers? [120 words max] Nobody decides to endanger themselves without good reason. Were you forced to leave your previous lifestyle? What happened that changed you from a safe job, like a farmer, to an adventurer?
When Garak learned of Monday's proposal, he jumped at the chance to escape.  This could change much more than his own life, but could bring freedom to his people.
[Type below:] What short/long term goals does your character have? [75 words max] If the world continued in its peaceful state, what would you'd be working towards for?
In the short term, Garak plans to make himself invaluble to Monday.  Along the way he hopes to throw the world into chaos and make it a better place for all changelings.

Relationships

[Type below:] Which people are important for your character? [75 words max] Who does your character consider important at the start of the campaign? Name at least 2 other people
Elira, Garak's elderly nieghbor who looked out for him after his parents were killed.  She is a kind-hearted woman with a wealth of life experience.

[Type below:] What connections do your character have to the other player characters? [175 words max] communicate with the other players and create two positive connections with two other player characters. Could have been friendship, coworkers, family relation or any relation that results in some degree of trust
Xavier has been a reliable resource on several jobs, he has always delivered.  Garak finds Xavier's devotion to his god humorus.  Usually only the uneducated get roped in by such non-sense.  Garak has used Matthias on occasion to get rid of an item.  However, he prefers to deal in secrets and information over something as common as gold.
[Type below:] Name an agreement you have made to another player character that you would honor. [75 words max] Communicate and agree on what agreement your character has made to one of the two other characters (you have connections to), that you wouldn't break.

We don't talk about previous jobs.  It's a code that Garak has always followed.  Discretion is a commodity that he is known for.
[Type below:] What are some good personality qualities that your character has as an adventurer? [75 words max] To ensure that the group doesn't have problematic characters everyone else will hate, tell us why would others trust and like your character as a fellow adventurer
