Treasurer's Log 007 - Impersonations

((On the ship, Sumiya heard a whistle from Haliinural Beequs (Haliin)'s bag and investigated. He claimed he wasn't able to charge his artifacts as he was in prison, and made an excuse saying maybe that's what's up. Sumiya, naturally, followed. He produced a conch on a string, saying that's probably the cause cause its weak. Said that it's an air source while diving, and maybe that's what the wind noise was. He was very clearly lying. She kept an eye on him.))

Evening fell, and the feast began. Captain Kaeran and his crew are likely to be there. We discussed who would be able to go without being immediately recognized by him, not that we have a distinct plan for what we'll do when we go there. I don't think three of us can safely and easily transport some pirates to give themselves in. We spent a long time deliberating, again, on what to do. How could we turn them over without us being immediately chased or arrested, or anything of the sort.

We're pretending to be another Imperial crew and ship in order to avoid too much suspicion. The Westerly Drake, captained by Ataan. The Captain described her as someone who can talk for half an hour and you zone out immediately and have no idea what they were talking about. Monotone, apparently.

Very kind but there's a lot of stone to get through to reach that.

We would need an excuse for why we're here as they would be patrolling pretty far away. Ras wants to impersonate the first mate, but we pretty much ruled her out as she doesn't really strike as a vice-captain, and also looks a bit like a child. Sumiya looks to distinct, so I took the role.

((10 minute break))

We threw Sybal and Baeren in a rowboat with five of us (with Draekha and Haliin and head toward the island to hand them over. We talked to Kaeran and and his first mate, Yaliel, and tried to offload the prisoners to them. They said they wouldn't be able to do so as they're headed away from the empire. They started to question us a little bit, and we gave our best nonchalant responses to try and not give them any further reason to suspect us or dilly dally.

We explained that we were escorting Haliin as he seemed to be some kind of royalty in order to improve trade relations. They, in turn, said that they were headed in order to hunt a Taanan tribe that turned to piracy. In the end, they agreed to take the two prisoners as we had three others. However, as we were heading north they suggested, and offered, to go together to the north. He also expressed a desire to catch up with captain Ataan and see the crew at the feast.

Haliin dropped a fun little fact on us - his tribe is the one that turned to piracy.

Now I have to go to a feast and intermingle while still pretending I'm a first mate. I signed up to this to find a dragon's egg, now I'm doing... I don't know whatever this is. I wonder if the crew even remember what I joined up for.
