"I merely wanted the Truth. Nothing more."
- Kristoph Gavin, "The Painting of the Lordly Tailor Shrouded in Mystery"
One of the numerous investigators at the Department of Malignant Mysteries, Kristoph Gavin joined after applying for parole and having it approved. Despite the grim tales his past tells, Kristoph remains a much more sociable and level-headed individual than the one responsible for the disbarment of Phoenix Wright and murder of Zak Gramarye.
Despite his genuine attempts at betterment, the air around him has not cleared in the slightest. While well-meaning, he can be rather blunt and result-focused. Unlearning a lifetime of playing by your own rules and regarding them as gospel isn't as easy as one hopes it might be. Despite this, he's certainly mellowed out compared to the attitude he had after his conviction. More sympathetic to victims and strongly disappointed in culprits of any sort, seeing his own shadow in each and every one.
Also, he can do magic now. Blame Misty Clue for gauging his magical potential.
