Raven Rock is an imposing fortress built atop the jagged peaks of obsidian mountains within The Shadowfell. Surrounded by a range of sharp, blackened cliffs and valleys, Raven Rock is a place few dare to approach. The entire region is protected by the mountainous terrain, which adds to the isolation of the fortress, while a colossal onyx gate bars the sole entrance to the valley leading up to the Museum of Lost Memories.
The structure itself clings to the cliffs, its dark and foreboding spires rising from the rock. It is said that the Matron of Memories herself, a being of immense power and mystery, dwells within these walls. Great swarms of ravens, the Matron’s loyal eyes and ears, are constantly seen flying to and from the fortress, their wings darkening the sky as they carry her cryptic messages across the multiverse.
At the heart of Raven Rock is the Museum of Lost Memories, a vast, macabre gallery filled with forgotten artifacts, ancient tomes, and stolen memories from across the realms. Built into the sloping cliffs of the obsidian mountains, the museum is a testament to the Matron’s obsession with memories, and is meticulously maintained by her trusted servant, The Curator.
Only the most determined or foolhardy adventurers have braved the path leading through the obsidian mountains and past the onyx gate. Those who survive the perilous journey through the valley are met with the haunting sight of the museum, where time, memory, and reality itself seem to warp in the presence of the Matron’s power.
