Once a quaint and self-sufficient Solir village known as Sylserin, Wraiths Rest now stands as a haunting reminder of the devastation wrought upon The Sun Realm in the wake of Malekith's betrayal. Nestled deep within the Burned Woods, Sylserin was once a serene haven where Sun Elves lived in harmony with the land, known for its elegant architecture, flourishing orchards, and the intricate, radiant burial rites practiced by its inhabitants. The village had withstood many hardships but ultimately fell when Malekith’s solar flare scorched the Sun Realm, reducing Sylserin to charred ruins and leaving behind only the restless dead.
Now, the remnants of the village are shrouded in an eerie silence, broken only by the wailing of the spirits that roam its crumbling pathways. These wraiths, bound by grief and torment, are the lost remnants of the Solir who perished in the catastrophe, unable to find peace. It is believed that their anguish is amplified by the remnants of Solir burial magic, which was disrupted during the Sundering, leaving them trapped between life and death.
Among the ruins stands the Silveth Family Mausoleum, an ancient crypt dedicated to one of the noble bloodlines of the Solir civilization. The Sunsations, while seeking refuge from the relentless wraiths of the burned woods, took shelter within the mausoleum, where they uncovered the tragic history of Sylserin and learned of the Solir’s elaborate burial rituals, which honored their dead with radiant obelisks of light and ceremonial sun-glyphs meant to guide spirits to the afterlife. However, with the fall of their civilization, these sacred rites were left incomplete, leaving the souls of Sylserin’s people to wander in eternal unrest.
It is said that deep within the ruins of Wraiths Rest, hidden amongst the rubble and ashes of forgotten homes, fragments of the Solir’s last prayers still linger—etched into the walls, inscribed upon sun-bleached stones, and whispered in the cold, spectral winds that coil through the forsaken village.
