Ophal is an ancient and powerful earth genie, revered among the Dao genies as a wise and cunning leader. He is said to be a master of Earth-Rifting, able to shape the very earth itself to his will. His body is a swirling mass of rock and stone, constantly shifting and changing as he moves. Despite his fearsome appearance, Ophal is a shrewd and calculating being, always seeking to further the interests of his people. He is known for his cryptic speech, speaking in riddles that often conceal deeper truths. He has struck a bargain with the first avatar of the earth, Avatar Umber, granting him exclusive rights to build The Underland City and its vast riches. Those who seek his wisdom must first pass the trials of The Stone Labyrinth, a maze of catacombs and puzzles that tests their courage and honesty. Those who survive the labyrinth may be granted an audience with the powerful earth genie, but few leave unchanged by the experience.

Discovery of the Continuum Chamber

The Underland City

Upon the Dao exodus from The Earth Realm into the UnderhollowOphal, the wise elder of the Dao, ventured deep beneath the earth's surface, driven by tales and prophecies of hidden ruins. What he stumbled upon was far more significant than any treasure. Hidden away in the depths were ruins of an ancient civilization, long forgotten and untouched by time. Guarding these ruins were the slumbering guardians known as the Steel Sentinels. These colossal, metallic beings were the protectors of a powerful artifact - the Continuum Crystal Shard. Legends whispered that this shard had the power to alter the very fabric of time and space.

This crystal, glowing with an ethereal luminescence, was a source of immense power. Drawn to its potential, the finest Dao sorcerers attempted to harness its energy. However, their ambitions were met with dire consequences. Upon tapping into the shard's power, the sorcerers began hearing whispers from the void. These eerie voices, filled with promises and forewarnings, drove the sorcerers to stark raving mad. Consumed by its influence, they turned on each other with a savagery never before seen among the Dao.

The tragic events following the crystal's discovery led to the sealing of the ruins once again. A decree was passed among the Dao to leave the Continuum Crystal Shard and its guardians undisturbed, fearing the repercussions of its power. The legend of Ophal's discovery, the Steel Sentinels, and the cursed Continuum Crystal Shard became a cautionary tale among the Dao, a somber reminder of the perils of unchecked ambition. To this day, the crystal remains sealed in a meteroite-encased antechamber, far beneath the iron fortress of The Underland City.
