Garthland was the heir of a noble lineage of Jannisary which had served the Serrakhan Sultanate for generations. Following in his families footsteps, Garthland faithfully served the Sultan for years until his fell in love with a foreign merchants daughter, Jasmine. Despite this deep affection, Garthland was forbidden to wed due to the sanctity of his oaths to the Sultan. Torn between his honor and the love of his life, Garthland strayed down a dark path as he grew more fascinated with relics of the Order of the Flaming Sun after their destruction. After coming across Bartholomew's Sarcophagus, Garthland would catch the ire of Balthazar the Blighted, who would ultimately kill his beloved Jasmine and deceive him into drinking from a cursed goblet (see: The Devil's Chalice); turning Garthland the Galavant into a raving Demon. Now hunted by his brothers in the Janissary Order, Garthland was ultimately killed in the ensuing battle. In life, Garthland was avid in Falconry and trained a scouting hawk named Jasmine after his late lover.
