Eve, the seventh layer of The Nine Hells, is a desolate and eerie plane, known as the Nocturne, where the souls consumed by envy are sent. It is a place of perpetual darkness, where the only light comes from the dim, ghostly glow of the damned souls themselves. The landscape is dominated by jagged rocks, some of which rise up into sharp spires and towers, while others form deep canyons and valleys that twist and turn in a maze-like fashion. Many of the rocks are covered in razor-sharp spikes, and it is easy for the unwary to become impaled on them as they stumble through the darkness. The air is thick and suffocating, filled with the sounds of tortured souls, wailing and screaming in the darkness. The only way to navigate through the Nocturne is to follow the sound of their cries, and hope that it leads to safety. However, the souls themselves are often blinded by their envy, and they will do anything to keep others from finding their way out of the maze. In the Nocturne, envy is the ruling passion, and the souls who are trapped here are consumed by it. They spend their days and nights lusting after what they cannot have, be it wealth, power, or beauty, and they will go to any lengths to possess it. They are constantly at war with each other, fighting for dominance and supremacy, and their battles rage on endlessly in the darkness. Those who are condemned to the Nocturne are doomed to spend eternity trapped in this endless cycle of envy and strife, their souls twisted and corrupted by the darkness that surrounds them.
