Emperors Fist
NPC

Kanzo Tatsugami, a figure of immense respect and renown, serves as the captain of the prestigious Order of the Jade Dragon. A red-scaled Y'azi Dragonborn, Kanzo stands out not only because of his commanding presence and formidable strength but also due to his striking appearance. His fiery red scales contrast with his sleek, silver mane, neatly kept in a ponytail, signifying his disciplined nature and respect for tradition. Wearing a traditional samurai armor with an ornate matte black finish topped in gold trim, Kanzo presents a visage that is both intimidating and awe-inspiring. Despite his formidable exterior, Kanzo is deeply respected for his humility and dedication to his duty. He is a model of the samurai code, living by its principles of honor, courage, and rectitude.

His reputation as a warrior is unparalleled in the Y’azi Empire, second only to Emperor Ryujin Hattori himself. This feat is all the more impressive considering Kanzo wields no magic, a testament to his rigorous training and exceptional skill. Each stroke of his blade is precise and decisive, a culmination of years of practice and unyielding discipline. However, Kanzo's duty as the general of the Imperial Y'azi Guntai extends beyond his prowess on the battlefield. He is also tasked with the training and welfare of the Guntai and Jade Dragon samurai, a responsibility he takes very seriously. His mentorship has led many young samurais to excel, shaping the Imperial Military into an elite force known throughout the Empire for their skill and loyalty.

Despite his stern exterior, Kanzo is deeply compassionate, always mindful of the well-being of those under his command. He values the life of every soldier, considering them not just his subordinates, but his brethren in arms. His leadership, grounded in respect and empathy, inspires loyalty among the Jade Guard, further cementing their reputation as an indomitable force within the Empire. Kanzo Tatsugami, through his tireless dedication, exceptional skill, and honorable conduct, has carved a significant place for himself in the history of the Empire. His name is spoken with reverence, a symbol of unwavering loyalty and unparalleled martial prowess.

The Emperor's Fist

Y’azi Peninsula

Kanzo Tatsugami is not just the captain of the Order of the Jade Dragon; he is also known as the "Emperor's Fist". This title, though unofficial, carries with it a depth of respect, authority, and responsibility that eclipses even his already substantial duties as a captain. As the Emperor's Fist, Kanzo is Ryujin Hattori's chosen subject for handling incursions, rebellions, and any threats to the supremacy of imperial rule. His actions in this capacity are seen as a direct extension of the Emperor's will, his strength and skill acting as the manifestation of the Emperor's own power.

Over the years, Kanzo has consistently demonstrated the might of the Empire, swiftly and effectively neutralizing threats to its stability. His success in these endeavors has not only reinforced the Emperor's rule but has also solidified his own reputation as a paragon of martial prowess and strategic acumen. From quelling local uprisings to combating external invasions, Kanzo has proved instrumental in maintaining peace and order within the Empire. He has been at the forefront of many battles, standing resolute against the tides of insurrection, his presence alone often enough to deter potential agitators.

His unwavering loyalty to the Emperor and dedication to his duty makes him the ideal person for this role. He does not shy away from difficult decisions and always prioritizes the safety and prosperity of the Empire over personal sentiments. These qualities, coupled with his extraordinary combat abilities, have earned him the trust and admiration of the Emperor, his peers, and his subordinates alike. However, being the Emperor's Fist is not just about displays of power or maintaining control. Kanzo also serves as a symbol of the Emperor's commitment to his subjects, embodying the principle that the strength of the Empire lies not just in its ruler, but in every individual who serves under the imperial banner.

Through his actions, Kanzo Tatsugami - the Emperor's Fist - continues to uphold the integrity and supremacy of the Empire, reaffirming the indomitable spirit of its people and the unwavering authority of its Emperor.

Tatsugami's Last Stand

Tani Mountains

Deep within the Tani Mountains, where the winds howl through narrow passes and the cliffs loom like sentinels, Kanzo Tatsugami made his final stand. As The Tides of Khaos surged southward, bringing with them hordes of daemons and Unknown marauders, the captain of the Order of the Jade Dragon stood alone at the valley's throat, the last line of defense between the invaders and the heart of the Y’azi Empire.

For three days and nights, he held the pass, his blade flashing like golden lightning amidst the storm of battle. With every strike, a fiend fell, and with every breath, he defied the chaos that sought to consume his homeland. Hundreds fell before him, their tainted blood staining the frozen ground, yet Kanzo stood, unyielding.

But even the mightiest warrior is not inexhaustible. The enemy came like a tide unbroken, and when at last his strength began to wane, he knew the end had come. In his final moments, he roared the name of Ryujin Hattori, the Dragon Emperor he had sworn to serve, and plunged into the horde one last time.

When his body was found, it lay atop a mountain of corpses, his sword embedded in the skull of a Khaos warlord, his armor broken but his honor intact. The valley was sealed in blood, but the Empire was safe.

With his passing, the mantle of Captain of the Jade Dragon Samurai and General of the Imperial Y'azi Guntai fell to Akihiro Takashi, one of his most disciplined and skilled protégés. The Empire mourned, yet in Kanzo's sacrifice, they found inspiration—for his final stand was not just a battle, but a lesson:

True honor is not in survival, but in the unwavering duty to one's people, even unto death.
