The Teeth of Krang are said to be the last remaining vestige of the Old One god known as The Dead One. These teeth, once part of the fearsome maw of the ancient deity, contain a sliver of his dark power. The whispers of the Dead One can be heard in the minds of those who bear his Teeth, urging them to fulfill the prophecy of his resurgence.
Main characteristics of the relic: The Teeth of Krang consist of five large, jagged teeth that seem to pulsate green with a dark energy. They are worn on a necklace made of blackened bone.
The Teeth of Krang are kept at the Temple of Pteor by the Fangguard.
The Teeth of Krang, ancient and sentient, harbor a singular, relentless desire: to return to the maw of their creator, The Dead One. This yearning is more than just an instinct; it is a compulsion, a dark hunger that pulsates through the relics with an insidious energy. Each of the five jagged teeth, now fashioned into a necklace of blackened bone, serves as a beacon, constantly reaching out to its lost master across the void between worlds.
For the bearers of the Teeth, the experience is one of growing dread. The whispers of The Dead One begin as subtle murmurs, creeping into their minds like the faint rustle of leaves in a dead forest. These whispers gradually grow louder, more insistent, filling the mind with visions of a gaping maw, an endless hunger, and the apocalyptic return of the Old One. The Teeth manipulate their guardians, planting seeds of doubt, paranoia, and greed, weakening their resolve to resist.
The Fangguard, tasked with protecting these dark relics in the Temple of Pteor, are sworn to keep the Teeth from ever reuniting with The Dead One. They are devout and skilled, yet they live in constant fear of the power they guard. The Teeth sense this fear and exploit it, turning the minds of the Fangguard against one another, sowing discord and mistrust. Through subtle influence, the Teeth have caused their protectors to falter, their vigilance waning at crucial moments, allowing the relics to slip through their grasp more than once.
The most recent heist of the Teeth was a masterstroke of deception. The Teeth, yearning for freedom, played on the ambitions of a thief, guiding them through the defenses of the Temple of Pteor. The relics ensured their escape by manipulating the minds of those who pursued, leaving behind only a set of false teeth in their place. The Fangguard were shamed, and their reputation tarnished as the Teeth made their way into the murky underworld of Seregon.
However, their freedom was short-lived. The Teeth’s desire to return to The Dead One's maw was so potent that they couldn’t resist exerting their influence on those who sought to sell them in Old Knot. This overreach attracted the attention of the Iron Guard, who swiftly intervened, recovering the relics before they could be sold to a buyer—perhaps another pawn in the Teeth’s plan to return home. Even now, as the Teeth of Krang rest once more in the Temple of Pteor, their dark influence continues to erode the will of their guardians. The Fangguard are but mortals, and the Teeth are patient. The whispers of The Dead One grow louder with each passing day, promising that the time will come when the Teeth will find their way back to the maw of their creator, unleashing his dreadful hunger upon the world once more.
The world teeters on the edge of oblivion, and only the steadfast vigilance of the Fangguard stands between it and the return of The Dead One. Yet, with each betrayal, each failed attempt to contain the relics, the possibility of the Old One’s resurgence looms ever closer.
