Lord Koninkrijk, whose name means "King of Death," was once known as Bram de Vries, a noble and valiant warrior of the de Vries family and a celebrated member of the ~Sentinels of Seregon. Over 50 years ago, during the Siege of Helderdink, Bram fell in battle while defending the city from the necromancer Otropos, a lieutenant of Ras Nsi. Though Bram struck down Otropos in a final, heroic act, he was tragically captured by Ras Nsi's forces, and instead of being laid to rest as a hero, Bram was twisted into a Sword Wraith Commander, serving under the serpentfolk necromancer who had corrupted him. This transformation stripped him of his humanity and bound him eternally to Ras Nsi’s dark will.
As a Sword Wraith, Lord Koninkrijk is an undead mockery of his former self. His decayed, emaciated figure is clad in the armor he wore in life, now bearing the foul stench of mold and decay. His once-sharp eyes now glow faintly, visible only in darkness or dim light, betraying the malevolent force that drives him. His sword and armor are stained with the essence of death, relics of his former glory turned into instruments of Ras Nsi’s undead army.
Though he is bound by Ras Nsi’s commands, Bram’s transformation into Lord Koninkrijk serves a strategic purpose—he is not merely a tool of destruction, but a symbol meant to taunt and demoralize his former allies. On several occasions, Ras Nsi has placed Lord Koninkrijk within sight of the Sentinels of Seregon, forcing them to witness their fallen comrade, now a servant of the undead. Each time, he appears just beyond their reach, riding upon a nightmare steed, a demonic horse wreathed in hellfire, making it clear that Bram de Vries is lost to them forever.
The loss of Bram devastated the Sentinels, especially Ambergris the Wizard, who had fought beside him for years, and the de Vries family, who were angered by the desecration of their loved one’s soul. Zuri Ironview, a stalwart dwarf warrior, took Bram’s place among the Sentinels, but Bram's shadow still looms large over their legacy.
Lord Koninkrijk is now a strategic commander for Ras Nsi’s undead forces, coordinating attacks with a grim and methodical precision. Despite being a twisted version of his former self, he retains the combat prowess and tactical skill that made him a celebrated Sentinel in life. His presence on the battlefield is a chilling reminder of the cost of failure—both for the Sentinels and the world they protect.
