Hase Schoonoven

Dead

Hase Schoonoven was a renowned bard and historian, a charismatic soul whose voice and words brought life to the tales of the ΩSentinels of Seregon - Retired. Born to a respected merchant family in Seregon, Hase originally sought a comfortable life within the city’s high society. However, after the Siege of Helderdink, where the town narrowly survived an assault from a coalition of raiders and marauders, he felt compelled to join the Sentinels, documenting their adventures and joining their cause.

Hase quickly proved invaluable to the group, not only for his charm and storytelling but also for his resourceful and clever approach to battle. His ability to weave inspiring songs and illusions often turned the tide in their favor, and his unwavering optimism was a balm for his comrades during difficult times. He continued with the Sentinels on many adventures, eventually journeying with them to the Moonlit Oasis in the Sultanate of Sahar, where Ambergris the Wizard unearthed the powerful Ring of Mujamada.

After the discovery of the ring, Hase and Ambergris became close friends. Hase’s reverence for ancient artifacts and the legends surrounding them only deepened his bond with Ambergris, who eventually entrusted Hase with the Ring of Mujamada, after wearing it for many years. Recognizing the ring’s dangerous potential, Hase chose, not to wear it, but to keep it hidden, vowing to protect it from those who would abuse its powers. Hase eventually fell in the battle against Galatrax. The ring was brought by Ambergris to the family and safeguarded within the Schoonoven lineage.

Description

Hase was a tall, slender man with an expressive face, framed by salt-and-pepper hair and piercing green eyes. His voice, deep and resonant, could silence a crowd or bring a tear to the hardest of hearts. Even as he aged, he retained a natural charm and magnetism that kept him a beloved figure among Seregon’s elite and common folk alike.

Legacy

Hase’s legacy lives on not only through his family but through the countless stories and songs he left behind, chronicling the adventures of the Sentinels of Seregon. His great-great-grandson, Clement Schoonoven, would one day "borrow" the Ring of Mujamada, unaware of the complex legacy left behind by Hase—a legacy of wonder, responsibility, and the dangers of powers that bend time itself.
