Light green, opaque, and with a gemstone-like sheen, these ovoid objects were covered in strange furrows, and were thought to be found in the Murkmire Marshlands. Initially thought to be a stone, they were actually the eggs of eldritch creatures, dormant for generations. When the egg was unearthed, the Abberation within rapidly developed and nearly hatched, emitting waves of trans-dimensional psychic energy that altered the body and minds of humanoids.
When hatched, the resulting creatures were ravenous for raw meat and grow exponentially as they feed, eventually overwhelming entire villages. The eggs were nearly indestructible, but ancient tomes claimed that encasing them in crystal could neutralize them.
