Troglodyte

Troglodytes, referred to as "stinkmeat" by Dark Dwarfs, were cave-dwelling reptilian monstrosities. Somewhat resembling Mortalkind, they were able to blend in with their surroundings by changing the colours of their scales, allowing them to sneak up on unsuspecting prey, and used simple stone weapons in addition to fighting with tooth and claw. However, their lack of intelligence generally left them unable to form tactics beyond ambush.

They had a basic culture mostly centered around food, war, and stench: the smell of an angry or frightened troglodyte was so foul that sickened all living creatures nearby, even after the troglodyte had died. Troglodytes generally took pleasure in hunting weaker sentient beings before taking them back to their caves to be eaten, and constantly warred with other creatures as they believed that all creatures of the world looked to kill them.

Troglodyte leaders were decided by sheer strength, regardless of gender, though on rare occasions troglodytes of superior intelligence or magical capabilities were born. In these cases, they tended to be champions of their people, and generally became chieftains.
