Clay golems were a type of Golem devised to perform simple tasks by their creator, such as guarding an area or manning levers. Formed as large Human-shaped constructs modeled out of clay, they were typically infused with a spirit from the Elemental Realm of Earth through divinity by priests, or by mages who specialized in harnessing such forces. Since clay was a weak vessel for life, damaged clay golems tended to release the spirit bound to them and would go berserk until completely destroyed or repaired.
