Wildshape

"Wildshape"was the magical ability that allowed druids to transform themselves into Beasts and other magnificent creatures found across the Prime Material. Accessing this magic, like most other forms of magic, took energy to perform: most Druidcould take on their wildshape form up to twice before resting. During their transformation, druids acquired the inherent strength and physical characteristics of their new form, but kept their natural personality and intellectual characteristics. This included inherent magical abilities, such as the Elven Reverie, provided their wildshape form could accommodate such powers.

Druids could only take on the form of a beast that they had seen in person or were otherwise very familiar with. Once transformed, they could retain their wildshape for one or more hours, depending on the power they possessed. They could revert to their natural form at will, a process that was near-instantaneous, or when knocked unconscious or slain. Druids of higher skill could transform into beasts with more complex physiology, such as those that could breathe water, fly, or were of massive size.

Druids from different druidic circles could manipulate their wildshape in distinct ways. These circles harnessed the inherent magic of the environment by channeling the Elemental Realms, the Elemental Chaos, the Astral Border, or developed abilities to awaken fungal spores within their body similar to Myconids.

Highly accomplished druids, such as Teralis Yllaralei, were able to break the "rules" of wildshape. They were known to be able to transform more often, enhance their wildshape form with magical abilities, or even cast spells while in their beast forms, but individuals of such skill were incredibly rare.
