Phantom warriors were the spectral remnants of willful soldiers or knights who perished performing their sworn duty. They appeared to be translucent versions of their living selves, often leading them to be mistaken for standard Ghosts. However, phantom warriors were not bound by a yearning to complete some unresolved goal. They could choose to end their undead existence at will, but their spirits lingered willingly out of loyalty to their former masters until such bonds were resolved.
Phantom warriors retained their personality they had before they died, and generally remembered their cause of death and the days leading up to it. However, anything before this moment was hazy, causing most phantoms to simply be avatars of their hate or duty.
Though incorporeal, phantom warriors could harness the energy around them to deflect attacks and strike with force. They could see into and travel through the border Ethereal Border and had an invisible sheath of energy that surrounded their armor and weapons, becoming as hard as steel while not impeding their ability to move through solid objects.
