Great White Shark

Great White Sharks were found in temperate coastal waters, most often near continental shelves, island chains, and regions where cold and warm currents met. They favored areas rich in large prey, such as seal colonies, sea lion rookeries, and migratory fish routes. Unlike many sharks that remained within specific ranges, great whites were capable of long-distance migrations, crossing entire oceans between feeding and breeding grounds while returning seasonally to familiar hunting sites.

Great white sharks were largely solitary, though multiple individuals were sometimes drawn to the same feeding grounds. Their hunting behavior relied on stealth and sudden force rather than pursuit. Approaching from below, they struck with explosive speed, often breaching the surface during attacks on Seals and other pinnipeds. After an initial bite, they frequently withdrew and waited for prey to weaken, conserving energy and reducing the risk of injury from struggling animals.

Great whites possessed exceptional sensory and physical adaptations. Unlike other sharks, they specialized in hunting large marine mammals using ambush strikes and possessed serrated teeth designed for cutting flesh, rather than the smoother teeth common to many other shark species. Their powerful bodies allowed for rapid bursts of speed, while their keen sense of smell and electroreception enabled them to detect prey from great distances. Though deadly encounters with Mortalkind were rare, great whites inspired intense fear and reverence due to their size and reputation.
