The Realm of Ice, also called the Plane of Ice, lay at the intersection of the Realm of Air and the Realm of Water within the Cosmic Wheel. It was a vast, frozen expanse where cold winds and solid water shaped the plane in equal measure. Endless glaciers, frozen seas, and towering ice formations dominated the landscape, slowly shifting and grinding against one another. Gravity was generally stable, but footing was treacherous due to slick surfaces and frequent fractures in the ice. Light was dim and diffuse, reflected endlessly through snow, frost, and translucent ice, creating long stretches of pale twilight.
The environment of the Plane of Ice was defined by extreme cold and constant motion. Blizzards driven by cutting winds swept across the realm, carrying fine ice crystals that scoured exposed surfaces. Beneath the frozen crust, dark waters flowed in slow currents, occasionally breaking through as pressure cracks or freezing geysers. Air was present but painfully cold and thin, making prolonged exposure dangerous. While the plane contained pure ice, freshwater, and rare crystalline formations, reaching or extracting them was difficult, as storms, shifting glaciers, and sudden collapses were common and often lethal.
