Túros Tem is a small Church fort set six miles off the Snow Lion Road, reached by a narrow spur that sees less traffic with every mile. It is the last permanent outpost before the frontier becomes uncertain. It is a days travel from Kalorand.
The fort is built for function, not comfort. Low stone walls, a single gate, and a squat watchtower overlook the road. There is no surrounding town, only a handful of sheds, pens, and storage buildings pressed close to the walls. Most travelers stop only briefly, if at all.
Those who do stop find the same things repeated by guards and roadwardens alike:

The forest beyond the fort is quiet in the wrong way.
The garrison is polite but cautious. They ask where you are going, how long you intend to be gone, and whether anyone expects you back. There is no preaching, no ceremony, and no attempt to dissuade determined travelers. Túros Tem exists to keep the road open and record who passes beyond it.
