Ilian Zoric

Legate

Legate Ilian Zoric of Threshold

Threshold is governed by Legate Ilian Zoric.

Zoric is not a warlord, nor a priest in the familiar sense. He is a public official of the Great Church, calm and formal, who speaks with the confidence of someone whose authority does not depend on persuasion.

He is usually encountered in open court or in a well-guarded administrative hall. He does not hide. He does not posture. He listens carefully and responds with decisions rather than opinions.

Under Zoric’s rule, Threshold is orderly and restrictive:

  • Weapons are confiscated or peace-bonded on entry

  • Spellcasting is forbidden without explicit sanction

  • Heavy armor is discouraged or banned unless worn by knights

  • Disputes are handled by clerical courts, swiftly and without spectacle

Zoric presents these rules as necessities, not punishments. He speaks of stability, containment, and the danger of unchecked violence on the frontier. He neither apologizes nor threatens.

To visitors, Zoric feels immovable.
To locals, he feels permanent.

Legate Ilian Zoric has ash-blond hair, cropped short and dulled by cold, with pale gray or blue eyes that give his gaze a distant, evaluating quality. His build is lean rather than imposing, reinforcing that his authority comes from mandate and law, not physical dominance.
