Feniton was set up as a small outpost hundreds of years ago, and has since expanded nicely as an important middle point between the Golden Coast and the Silver Coast. Only a few of the original city walls remain, as the city hasn’t had threats of war with its surrounding in decades.

Ruler

The current ruler of Feniton is a self-proclaimed King named Rufus Silverbank, a 61 year old male halfling who’s lived in Feniton his whole life. With the help of his personal wealth and private militia, he seized power 5 years ago by overthrowing the previous elected mayor, Jamie Aarons. While his actions and his personality aren’t massively liked by the Fenitonians, they largely prefer his transparency and the stability he brings, compared to the old ruler.

Economy

Feniton is ideally placed in between many important cities, and most importantly acts as a hub between the Gold Coast and the Silver Coast. This location allows it to raise a levy on all merchandise transitioning through the City. The city is mostly known for its cuisine and music, influenced by the very mixed population heritage. Other important industries are the logistics industries, along with luxury furniture using the natural resources from the villages nearby as well as resources brought from far away. Fenitonian literature is also considered very popular, with a strong predisposition towards comedy.

The city doesn’t produce enough food for its inhabitants, and relies on smaller farming communities scattered no more than a day’s distance to tend to the needs.

Religion

Freedom of religion is strongly supported in Feniton, with the biggest pantheon being that of Denein, God of writing. The second biggest pantheon is Waukeem, Goddess of Trade.

Many shrines and churches build the landscape of Feniton, and people freely references other Gods than their own in songs and writing.

Guilds

As you would expect of a city of its size and wealth, Feniton has many guilds, each competing in several key sectors of the economy of Feniton. Almost everyone belongs to a Guild, and in many people’s lives, they have more important than their religion.

Every 2 months, a competition if held by the city where each guild can participate in various challenges. The winner of the challenge is awarded with all the government contracts for the next two months. This is a source of great pride, but among all, of great wealth to whomever can levy the taxes on goods.
