The Ruins of Devotion were used as the headquarters of the former cult named Zorgath’s Devotion and the Flaming Cult. Gwyny and co burnt it to the ground for good.
History
Previous Campaign
It was abandoned 60 years ago after the failed attempt by the Cult to revive Zorgath in the village of Northernway. The flaming cult’s boss, Flamath (spanish accent), a drow, is the old right hand man of Zorgath’s Devotion, and set up the Flaming Cult to finish what the devotion started many years ago. Grogoth was in charge of operations in Newport while he trained new cultists here.
The ruins were abandoned but refitted for the new activity, and it is mostly low level bandits and summoned monsters keeping guard.
The rain is pouring down onto the players, with a slight cold breeze. It is no more than 11°C. Yet the smell of burned wood is strong, and as the players follow the smell, they find themselves in front of the building. Lights are obviously one inside, with shadows moving. Smoke is coming out from a chimney, and yet part of the building is partially collapsed.
As the players enter the Ruin, the warmth is a welcomed feeling, but the smell of rain, trees and smoke leave way for a smell of mostly wet clothes, the kind that is nearly nauseating, and with a heavy presence of sweat. Gwyny can smell that a dead animal was recently brought through this very hallway.
