RC 24 - H E Double Hockeysticks

Session

24 Avunai, 1024

Aggma and Sett filled me in on what they learned. My father said that my sister came by asking about the ruins, he refused to tell her. She cast some magic on him or something. He also said that he and my mother went to investigate it years prior and nothing but death and hell were there. Aggma finally relayed that he asked a hag to remove my mother's memories. So off we go to stab a hag. Oris went to go ask around for the whereabouts of the hag. I remembered there being an old rumour of her existence, so it wasn't horribly difficult to track down a bit more firm of an answer. They warned that you pay with your sanity if you bargain with her. I don't want to do much of bargaining just stabbing.

The villager seemed pretty terrified by the hag. We decided to go after her anyway. Along the path there were warnings that we were encroaching on the hag's territory but we continued anyway. In the forest there was a fog clinging to the trees, unnaturally so. Further. There was a feeling of pressure as the fog seems to push against us. Flame burned purple, not the oranges and yellows as it should. The hut was misshapen and poor. Like a mockery of a proper house. Bones hung off it like horrible wind chimes.

After a bit of talking, the hag said she would undo the spell if we gave her my father's nose. Then she cackled adding she'd undo the spell she put on him that made it so he can't love his children. Fuck this hag. What a convenient excuse for a deadbeat father. We're discussing alternatives such as making him say no in the jar she gave me, having him name something he owns nose, so on.

This is a predicament. On one hand if she says is true, then my father's shittiness is not his fault. Entirely. He made that decision, so his hands aren't clean. He willingly gave up his ability to not be a piece of shit. So cutting his nose off and forcing him to live like that forever. In the end we're just putting one of those horrible balls from Harris Yorehil that we're carrying around into the jar and writing up a contract that it counts as my father's nose. Technicality. Let's see if it works.

((Took a break))

I asked my piece of shit father why he removed her memories. He begged me not to bring my mother's memory back. That when they went to the ruins and ended up in hell, and were forced to fight in arenas against her friends and allies and somehow managed to make it out but not without horrible mental scars. I guess I won't, then. We're probably just going to head to the ruins. Cut our losses. This whole situation stinks.

We head to the waterfall my father mentioned to find the ruins. Near the entrance we found a whole group of completely enervated bodies. We went through an illusory wall to continue on, and head down a large set of stairs into to the yawning abyss. We found another wall and Oris smacked it, summoning or waking two wisps of air that attacked us. Combat ensued.
