The barony of Rivermond, formally known as the regional crown, stretches along the largest river in the country, the Gylder, pronounced [Guyl-deer]. The Gylder River is divided into the Lower Gylder, flowing from Rivermond to Rivertown, and the Upper Gylder, stretching from Rivertown to its terminus within the Silver Dominion. According to myth, the river was formed by a divine intervention to end regional conflict by splitting the land, prompting people to build bridges and find peace. The city and capital of Rivermond, located at the river’s mouth, has grown into a massive metropolis with four distinct, ever-expanding districts. Rivermond is a multicultural hub, home to people from across the world, overseen by the Knights of Rivermond who guard the river. The city's nobility is divided into the Lion Lords and the Stallion Lords, with some holding lordships over various towns in the region. The Arch-Baron rules over Rivermond as a whole, maintaining its status and overseeing its governance.

Geography

Rivermond’s geography is defined by the Gylder River, which bisects the region and supports numerous settlements along its banks. The capital city, Rivermond, is strategically located at the river’s mouth, featuring a bustling port and four growing districts. Sunspire, established as a place of worship, has evolved into a town centered around a large shrine dedicated to the sun, representing the Dynasty faith. Sungard, a hilltop town founded by the Veedis family, is predominantly inhabited by people from the Khein Dynasty, thriving as merchants and brewers. Rivertown, built on and around the main crossing of the Gylder River, has become a wealthy trading hub with a dynamic market scene. Riverend, situated mid-region, relies heavily on the river for trade and boasts a valuable ruby mine, though its local populace struggles with the presence of Dominion soldiers. Northgate, the heavily fortified gateway to Rivermond from the Dominion, serves as a defensive stronghold. Oakheart and its nearby village Honeyfair, overseen by the Mountainbreaker family, are known for their hardworking populace and honey production from hive gardens. Northvik, a small town born from a bridge crossing, has developed into a stop for travelers and miners exploiting local silver deposits.

People and Economy

The people of Rivermond are diverse, drawing individuals from various cultures due to its strategic location and status as a trade hub. The capital city is a bustling metropolis where common lords and ladies coexist with the knightly nobility. The Lion Lords and Stallion Lords represent the city’s military aristocracy, while the Arch-Baron governs the region. Sunspire, under the Nasi family, remains deeply religious, with its populace loyal to both their lord and the Arch-Baron. Sungard, ruled by the Veedis family, thrives as a commercial center due to its residents' ties to the Khein Dynasty. Rivertown’s prosperity stems from its status as a major trading post, though its wealth makes it exclusive. Riverend, governed by the Karlstain family, is economically vital due to its ruby mine but faces tension due to the Dominion’s military presence. Northgate, managed by the Hauser family, functions as a military settlement with low crime and high communal solidarity. Oakheart and Honeyfair, under the Mountainbreaker family, are known for their industrious citizens and significant honey production. Northvik has grown from a simple bridge crossing to a small town with emerging mining operations.

Military Strength

Rivermond’s military capabilities are robust, reflecting its strategic importance and need for defense. The capital city can muster up to fifteen thousand foot soldiers and four thousand mounted knights, forming the backbone of the region’s military might. Sunguard contributes two thousand foot soldiers, bolstering regional defenses. Sunspire, though smaller, can rally five hundred foot soldiers. Oakheart adds five hundred foot soldiers, fifty knights, and five hundred mounted soldiers to the forces. Northgate, crucial for border defense, can provide one thousand foot soldiers, two hundred knights, and one thousand mounted soldiers while maintaining its fortifications. Northvik, a smaller settlement, can rally around one hundred foot soldiers. Riverend, despite its economic struggles, can muster eight hundred foot soldiers and three hundred knights. This diverse and powerful military force, under the command of the Arch-Baron and various noble families, ensures Rivermond’s security and influence within the broader region.

Rivermond

The Capital is divided into four main districts within the city walls; the Port district being the largest one as it covers the entire coastal area of the city. It is also the busiest district with many businesses running tight scheduals and so on. Next is the Coin district, this is where all the everyday shops and markets are located. All the money is made and lost in that district the saying goes. The cheapest district to live in within the city. The finer district is the Riverbed district, this is where most of the nobility lives and the higher end shops are located. One can walk the streets or go by the countless canels in this district. Lastly the newest districts is the Newtown district which began as part of the Coin district but after the cathedral was built the Dominion quickly took over it and dedicated it to the Silver Prince. People wished to moved there and it became a new and richer district which could not be part of the Coin district.
