Captain Rasha Virell—known to her comrades as Lantern—is a seasoned officer of the 11th Company of the Redeemed Legion, a unit known for its relentless skirmishing and reconnaissance operations across Rivermond. A former battlefield medic, Rasha earned her nickname for the glowing lantern she carried into the deepest shadows of war, using it not as a beacon of fear, but of hope—guiding her to the wounded left behind in chaos. Her courage and calm under pressure became her calling card long before she held any formal rank.

Born in the Barony of Bellmond, along Rivermond’s western plains, Rasha was raised in the company of soldiers. The region, pressed against the border with the Khein Dynasty, was no stranger to conflict. From an early age, she witnessed the brutal aftermath of border skirmishes—maimed veterans and broken bodies brought back from patrols. Rather than be deterred, she grew fascinated by resilience and recovery, spending time in local chapels and apothecaries learning how to mend what war tried to destroy.

Though not a master of the sword or spear, Rasha’s strength lies in her mind and presence. Her battlefield insight, sharp tactical instincts, and uncanny ability to read people have made her a natural leader. She understands both terrain and temperament, knowing when to press, when to wait, and where the enemy is most likely to falter. Her transition from medic to officer came through grit, quick thinking, and hard-earned trust. After entering the ranks of the Dominion forces in Rivermond, she was eventually placed in the Redeemed Legion—an elite force often tasked with difficult assignments. There, she carved a place for herself not through brute force, but through intelligence, reliability, and an unwavering drive to protect her own.
