Gifted

The ground was slick with orcish blood. In the middle was a gray-skinned orc mage. he tried reaching for his staff, but it was kicked away and out of reach.

A white-haired human sneered down at him, her eyes a strange shade of purple. "If your first dozen spells didn’t work, what makes you think another one will?"

She grasped the hilt of her knife and knelt down. As the sneer shifted into a truimphant smile across her face, she stabbed into the mage once, twice, and finally a third time. "We won’t fear your kind any more."

About

The elves have their long lives and inherent magic. The orcs have their natural gifts with the arcane. The dwarves are mighty warriors, and even the once idyllic gnomes have turned into hardy fighters. But humanity had none of these gifts. They had only their wits and their guile. And with it, the Sentrans attempted to create the perfect specimen of humanity: the Gifted.

Centuries ago, the Sentrans began to create the perfect specimen of humanity to combat the demihuman menaces across the continent. It was a breeding program combined with magic and some even say the divine gifts of Aldar. The Gifted were specifically designed to be anti-magic to combat the natural mystic ability of the demihumans and humanoids, and old stories abound of them absorbing the magical abilities of their non-human enemies.

Today, the Gifted are not the same as they once were. The same breeding program used to help create the Gifted has also been it's downfall as the bloodline thinned. Over the centuries, their abilities have waned and whatever divine spark they might have once had is now diminished.

At a quick glance, a Gifted human appears like any normal fit human, except for the purple in the eyes and the white hair, regardless of their age.
