Overview
(See: Mountain Lodge slideshow)
Outside
- High in the Greypeak Mountains, clear views from all approaches from the second story windows, and can look down into the Dawn Pass.
- 10 miles from Parnast.
- The lodge is fairly defensible as a structure - very sturdy and raised.
Magical Properties
- Artifact-fueled Hallow
- Aided by Allorik's Warlock Patron (who he calls "The Philosopher King") and fueled in a binding to the Black Wyrm Mask.
- Resilient: Dispel Magic as if vs. 7th level spell, and only temporary, back on following dawn.
- Any observer more than 120 ft from the edges of the Hallow(including from the air) will see Hallucinatory Terrain as if the mountain top was unoccupied, like the surrounding mountains.
- The area is under the effects of a Nondetection spell,
- so cannot be magically located or spied upon.
- (Ujio’s Seeing Sword is given an exception to this if he inscribes a glyph for Clairvoyance).
- Unknown, Elementals, Unknown, Unknown, and Unknown
- cannot enter the 60 ft radius area unless marked by Alorrik
- (Shadow, the Valenar Steed, and Alorrik’s familiar are given exceptions).
- Nor can such creatures charm, frighten, or possess creatures within it
- (and any Charmed, Fear, or possession ends upon entering the area.)
- The menhir’s “coordinates” are scrambled so any who have not used the portal recently will no longer be able to find it as a destination (cutting off the portal in the Mere of Dead Men).
- Portal Stones - hidden and locked within the hallow's protections - have been shown to successfully allow travel to other menhir:
- The Place of the Unicorn (between Phandalin and Leilon, at the foot of the Sword Mountains)
- Neverwinter Wood (the ancient tomb that had been made the Circle of Thunder)
- Mere of Dead Men (Castle Naerytar in the northwestern part of the swamp, Lizardfolk try to hold it)
- Skyreach Castle (not a menhir, but a summoning circle in the crystal tower)
Inside
- The rooms are under some construction, being modified from the Cult of the Dragon's decor.
- The entryway is equipped with arrow slits.
- A magical tapestry offers an option to escape (or easily hunt for food).
