Geluvicken is an adolescent reluctantly-becoming-adult Unknown, daughter of Queen Vassavicken, Handmaiden to Auril the Frostmaiden. She enjoyed her life when her mother and her retinue remained home in the castle of Grimskalle on the Isle of Solstice, even as the Goddess of Winter became obsessed with weaving the Rime of the Frostmaiden enchantment, gripping the Frozenfar in an Everlasting Winter.
But following the Desolation of the Ten little Towns by Xardorok Sunblight's Chardalyn Dragon, the militant Chardalyn Syndicate rose against the wintery forces of the Children of Auril, and Auril sent the Queen and her armies to confront and destroy these rebellious upstarts in what she was making into her Divine Realm.
This left Geluvicken to tend the castle and now-emptied halls, accompanied only by her caretaker - a deaf and elderly frost giant named Ertgard. Lonely and bored, the princess watched for any sign of entertainment - sometimes unleashing the fury for which her kind was well known. However, in the case of a small group of adventurers she greeted disguised in the form of an Ice Mephit named Sopo, she had a turn of heart at their treating treacherous Sopo with tolerance and kindness.
Further testing their mettle, she concocted a battle between these adventurers - Aelar, Agaric, Ziggy and Zaknalimar against an Ice Golem guardian about which she had masterfully spun an illusion of her mother the queen. And yet these four displayed bravery and valor, winning her approval. So when Ertgard finally noted the trespass, the polymorphed Sopo returned to the form of Geluvicken and assured the ancient Ice Shaper that these elves, dwarf, and gnome we now her friends and OK. In fact, Ertgard too seemed to have his own irritation with their situation at the ice castle.
Geluvicken, who had learned of the party's objective as Sopo, then pronounced the party having passed "her own two trials" - one of Friendship (in place of Auril's Trial of Cruelty) and one of Courage (in place of Auril's Trial of Preservation), bypassing these in the quest to gain entry to the vault holding the Codicil of White.
