The party arrive at the feast hall, and are a little overwhelmed by the sight of it.
The delegation from Thrane approach them, and Minister Luala thanks them for their company on the journey here. They discuss their rooms, and it seems the Thranes didn't get a snack table. Nyrielle says the Brelish delegation got a wheel of cheese and some bread.
The elven warlord Zaeurl approaches them silently, though Terfel and Warden both note her approach. She introduces herself and says the group have already met her children, though they are confused by this. Warden clarifies that she means the wolves.
Zaeurl explains that the warlords of Droaam are something like "barons", they manage lands and can raise armies, but it's not their sole reason for existing.
Nyrielle asks how Zaeurl found her way to Droaam, it's unusual that one of the warlords is an elf. Zaeurl says the Church of the Silver Flame led her to Droaam.
Luala expresses confusion and Zaeurl turns on her. Zaeurl is angry, and demands to know where Luala was two centuries ago, and makes reference to the "war in the west".
Drego clarifies that she means the Silver Crusade. Zaeurl is a survivor, she was eight years old when the Pure Flame massacred her family. She blows up and the Thranes take the brunt of it, and then after having caused a scene, she stomps away and leaves the feasting hall.
There is some discussion of that, with Dax's theory about the lycanthropes seemingly being confirmed.
The party then go and speak to some of the other warlords, beginning with Tzaryan Rrac. It seems that Tzaryan is willing to wash away the bad blood between them, which is interesting because he caused it. The General is hostile to the group and doesn't engage them overly. It seems that Tzaryan supports the Summit, and Droaam's inclusion as a Thronehold Nation.
They then speak to the Prince of Bones, who is old and just wants some peace and quiet. Kalshana fetches him some boiled crab, which he thanks her for before eating it whole. The Prince of Bones is ambivalent towards the summit, they don't seem to think it will effect them either way.
Lastly, they speak to Bal Molesh, who is representing the Venomous Demesne. He won't talk about the Venomous Demesne, but he does insult the quality of the groups equipment. It seems the Venomous Demesne also doesn't care about the result of the summit, they are happy in their isolation. The party do not like him.
Drul Kantar's voice rings out and announces it is time to eat. They have all been allocated places at the tables, and go to find them. The party have been seated next to the delegations from Breland, Darguun, and Zilargo, with a large empty space with an enormous tankard next to it.
Their names are written on little envelopes designating their place. Beren comments that there has been a mix-up, as someone has seated a 'Thorn' on his right. Nyrielle decides to sit there anyway, and deal with the problem if and when this 'Thorn' shows up. Beren jokes that Thorn sounds like a spiny ogre or something.
Dax opens her envelope, and there is a cryptic note inside written in Draconic. It seems that all of the Cyran delegation had cryptic notes, and Munta did not. It is unknown if the Brelish received such notes. See Sora Teraza's Cryptic Notes.
The final guest arrives, a Fire Giant named Gorodan Ashlord. He sits down and announces that he is hungry and cold and his patience is short. This seems to be the signal to eat.
The Zil tell a war story, though not one from the Last War. Mordan Sel Sarin tells of his time as a foreman in a mine in Zolanberg, and their conflicts with a local tribe of Kobolds. He scatters rubies at the end of the story, and requests that the other delegates keep them as gifts. Nyrielle pickpockets Beren's off of him.
Munta tells his own war stories, though quickly realises he is talking about taking Darguun from Cyre to the Cyrans. He stops talking, but the party request to hear his side of the story, as they normally hear it from Cyre's side. Munta describes a quick and brutal takeover, razing the towns they couldn't hold because they had to win a decisive victory to ensure Cyre couldn't retaliate. He's not proud of some of what they did, but supports the reclamation of their homeland.
Gorodan tells his own tale, of being born in Xen'drik and growing too big for his admittedly very large boots, and being exiled for his ambitions. He says that he can never return to his homeland, or he'll be killed. This makes him grumpy again.
After Gorodan's tale, Sora Katra emerges and gives a speech. It is very dramatic, and can be read in detail in the Droaam Summit.
As part of the speech, Sora Katra throws the severed head of the Karrnathi aide, Vlastimir Perlich, onto the plate of the Karrnathi delegate. It seems he was sneaking about with the intention to steal from the Daughters of Sora Kell, but it was just an illusion. Sora Katra threatens that next time, it won't be just an illusion.
Sora Katra also sets out the rules. Violence will not tolerated, by anyone, and the delegations are not to wander the Great Crag unaccompanied. Nobody is to leave the interior of the mountain for any reason. If these rules are not followed, Sora Katra washes her hands of your blood.
After the speech, Nyrielle excuses herself, complaining about a sore stomach.
The party go and speak to Sheshka, the Queen of Stone. She seems to support the summit, and is open to negotiations even should the summit fail. She mentions that Cazhaak Draal has plenty of space they aren't using, they could house refugees.
They ask Sheshka about the Midnight Dawn, and she says the celebrations can get quite riotous. It's in Droaam's interest that none of the delegates come to harm.
Lozaal wants to ask Sora Katra for permission to go to the celebrations anyway. He approaches Gorodan and asks if he will escort him, but Gorodan doesn't want to go to the celebrations because they are outside, and outside is cold.
Lozaal books a private meeting with Gorodan, to discuss giant magic. Gorodan excitedly books Lozaal in all day, so that he doesn't have to meet with any other delegates. Smort.
