The Assembly is the parliament of the Argentian Republic. Stylized after the old political systems of the United Territories and the Republic of Aisepa on the lost Illiadian homeland of Illiad, it is comprised of 100 elected seats, shared by the most popular parties (Not counting their leaders, who act in the Council of Leaders, which is headed by the leaders of most parties that gain at least 5% of the vote). Laws are being drafted, debated and created here. The current makeup of the Assembly is as follows:
Argentian Wisdom and Work Party (34 Seats): The political party with currently the most seats, and also the current High Protector of Argentis' party. The Wisdom and Work party is known for its focus on both the rights of the average worker, as well as its interest in funding universities and the sciences. Many laws and reforms that introduced better working conditions and higher wages were the Wisdom and Work Party's ideas, but so where also many research-projects in the scientific sector. The Wisdom and Work Party is currently in a coalition with the Democratic Rencalist Party.
Argentian Democratic Rencalist Party (28 Seats): Representing the more religious Illiadian members of Argentian society, but also the economic center-right, the Democratic Rencalist Party is popular not just with those that worship Rencal Kei-Rhai, due to many measures to vitalize the economy in the past, and is also quite popular with the middle class and people who are self-employed. Nonetheless, quite a few of their policies have rencalistic roots, especially things like environmental protection, pacifistic policies or funding of the arts. The Democratic Rencalist Party is currently in a coalition with the Wisdom and Work Party.
Argentian Democratic Merikiraist Party (10 Seats): The smallest political party of the Argentian Republic, but also with an interesting history. Generally representing people of Dorro descent and people who worship Merikira te Ruvea, but also popular amongst other scalefolk due to similar political outlooks, the Democratic Merikiraist Party has, in the past, often been crucial in deciding which party might get the majority by engaging in a coalition with them. Currently, the Democratic Merikiraist Party is part of the opposition, but still has good relationships to both the Wisdom and Work Party as well as the Democratic Rencalist Party.
The Free Alliance Party (15 Seats): Often thought to be the party that represents high-tier merchants and employers, but also popular amongst self-sufficient farmers due to their policies, the Free Alliance Party advocates for less meddling with the economy and a lower taxes, making them popular with the more higher class population but also self-employed merchants and farmers who own land. And while they also support less funding for social programs from time to time, they nonetheless agree that they should stay in place in some form.
The People's Voice (13 Seats): Sometimes acting as a coalition partner with the Wisdom and Work party, the People's Voice represents the little guys and those who require help the most. Often the loudest voice in issues regarding social programs and social equity, the People's Voice has been responsible for quite a few laws that made the living standard of The Argentian Republic better for the less fortunate. Nonetheless, they also advocate for more taxation of business owners and the rich, making them unpopular with the higher society of Argentis.
