Meriah is a bit of an enigma by the standards of the Adventurer's Guild in Hugan, despite being a member of its local leadership in Bapesta. For once, she's a necromancer, in an area that frequently deals with monsters of the night, especially just a little further to the east. While it helps that all corpses she uses for her magic have been acquired legally, this nonetheless results in others giving her a few looks at times. She's also technically the leader of a smaller local church of a goddess of death and magic called Wee Jas, who doesn't have much influence on the world of Sancstoryl. She's been working under the guild for long enough that her church has become officially supported by the local Guild, with a few of its clerics even offering the usual services of the guild's support-tier clerics to guild members. More often than not, she extends these services to the local populace. This seems to have inspired at least a couple adventurers and locals to join her church over the years. But perhaps that is her goal all along?
When in need of funds, Meriah still goes out adventuring from time to time, usually taking on smaller jobs around Bapesta, but also the occasional monster-hunting job a bit further to the east if necessary, only rarely leaving Hugan. Occasionally, people have said that, whenever she goes questing, a half-dragon woman in the garbs of her church is often by her side.
