The session opens as Mikhail returns to Argentis, skipping along towards the A Taste of Home, after a nice, secret vacation in Magrasta in The Principality of Argond. At the doors to the restaurant, he was stopped by Punchy and their new guard Prioz Bronzefield. Mikhail was immediately able to tell that Prioz had some baggage that reminded him of Dareth Lion'el Griffmane, at least from when they first met, and told him that he hopes that A Taste of Home will bring a little bit of home here, to which Prioz said that he'd prefer if it wasn't. Upon entering the Restaurant proper, he meanwhile was stopped by Galto, who explained that the restaurant wasn't open yet and whose size left him speechless for a moment, only for Kilbi Leaftooth to pop up and introduce the two, before mentioning that the Agate Seekers got a letter, and the rest if the party was reading it upstairs. After Mikhail gave everyone some presents, nice ceremonial, silvered Longsword of the faith of Erathis for Dareth, a small, white-gold statuette of a howling wolf for Volk Lesnoy, a small, artistic portrait of a Pyrenean Mastiff, with a decorated, Ebony frame, for Zora, and a plush rabbit with a little bow-tie for Sooty, the party taked about how they had been invited by Captain Ukren Schwerter to discuss a new mission.
And so, the party made their way to Ukren's office in the Liwilai Adventurer's Guild's HQ, passing Marlène Lebas on the way. Dareth walked right in, knocking over some paperwork, much to Ukren's displeasure. So, the party was chosen to take over a request from a member of the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Canei. The Lucky Sevens have already taken on some missions for this individual, but as they were currently not present, the Agate Seekers were chosen instead. This mission apparently requires secrecy, and the party would have to meet with them in Chaudrana, the capital of Canei, in the Notre Soleil cathedral to Pelor do discuss it further. The party accepted and went on their way, teleporting to the capital of Canei.
After buying some clothes at a tailor, with Volk getting a new jacket, Dareth getting a cravat and Philomena getting a fancy dress with a powdered wig, the party met the Archbishop of the Cathedral, Jean-Pascal Robiquet, who introduced them to their client: The young Princess Madeleine Auclair de Canei I. Madeleine has been worried about her brother for a while, and his attempts of reforming the countries' military that started when their father fell sick. And she had, thanks to the Lucky Sevens, come to the conclusion that several people under him are acquiring magical weapons and armor to appease him through criminal means, and that perhaps she could learn more about what's happening to him through investigating them.
Currently she had her eye on a general of them military; one Général Valentin Galopin. A wizard friend of hers, called Antoine Flandin, also had agreed to look into Valentin Galopin for her, but had completely disappeared without a trace; this time, she wishes to make things safer for the party by accompanying them, as she had arranged a dinner with Valentin Galopin's wife. The party is to accompany her under false pretenses, pretending they're not to leave her side until guidance for a future mission, and while they are in the mansion, potentially break into Valentin's office unnoticed and gather evidence. As long as she's around, she can at least guarantee the safety of the party in smaller ways, as nobody would put a hand on her. Some employees and family of Valentin may be able to help, while others will likely hinder them. After giving some guidance, and even offering Sooty to copy a few potentially useful spells from her fathers' spellbook, she told the party that they will able to further discuss things with her later on, as she informed them of several stores, in case they need to gear up. She then left for a Tavern where the party could meet her later.
The party then proceeded to buy a few potions at a magic item store called The Raven's Quill, run by a worshiper of The Raven Queen, as well as a few weapons at a blacksmith shop called the Phoenix-Flames, run by a Fire-Genasi. And after this, the party proceeded to start making their way to the Tavern "Le Loup d'Or", to meet with the princess once more, to further discuss the plan to infiltrate Valentin Galopin's mansion.
