We return to the party on the morning after Dareth Lion'el Griffmane heard the message from the Midnight Sun. Philomena Snapdragon has returned to the A Taste of Home and told the party what she had been up to during her absence; she did research; on the Jailers of the End and Norbert Staudinger, the man who put out a hit on the party. She found out that the Orc man who owned the "The Wurst Place" grenwalian sausage stand, Jukzog Steinhaeuser, once knew a man with that name when he still had a stand in Monksa, the capital of the Kingdom of Beya. One day, he talked about finding a new community who could change the world for the better, called “The Jailers of the End”, and then he never saw him again.
After Volk Lesnoy reminded everyone, the party then made their way to The Silver Underground to meet with the Midnight Sun, seeing Hrazurr the Strangler currently guarding their office. One awkward interaction later, the party went in and sat down, being greeted by the Midnight Sun; they had another job for them, but first, an update on their research topics.
First, Dareth. She looked into Clan Steelhand and The Bloodletters; once again, the leader is Magnus Steelhand, a human man, and he has two sons, Andreas and Caim Steelhand, who are Tieflings, who have an unknown mother. Whether they have bases there is unknown, but they're often seen around the towns of Creencaw and Ridgestown in Galon, near Dareth's home.
Then, Philomena; when looking into her client, the Martyr's Rosary still didn't show up, meaning that he likely still has it. However, when sending a squad of scouts towards him, only a single one of them managed to survive with 3rd degree burns and flee, blabbering about green eyes and hellfire.
Then, Sooty. Much of the information was the same as before; that Selene McCoy was last seen entering the Mages' College of Bridgeston, but never came back out. However, now it was said that Sooty was with her, but was then escorted out of there by Baroness Lucinda McCoy and Baron Hillard McCoy, something that Sooty doesn't remember; or ever going to that school, for that matter. This upset Sooty quite a bit.
Last, Volk. He asked the Midnight Sun to look into Druid Groves in the Medweda Empire that worship the moons. They found one, south-east of Moksa, the capital, called the Twin Moon Grove, led by Moon Druids.
Mikhail and Zora had their results privately told.
Only Volk wanted the subject of research changed this time; he now wanted them to look into Portals to The Feywild in Medweda.
They then told the party about the job she wanted the party to take; once again, their brother Ylos Asol, got stuck somewhere; this time in a northern town of the High Lordship of Lugh, called Sligac, because he believed a ruthless magic item merchant that he had information for him, and was then trapped into a bad business deal. While Ylos has a friend with him, he requires additional escorts to go back to Dulenn and then back to the Argentian Republic. The party agreed to take on this mission, as per their agreement, and was told that they made it so that this would be their only mission on their questboard the next day.
The party also mentioned the Jailers of the End, asking the Midnight Sun to look into them for the entire group. They already had a bit of information from Briza Tinaari however, as it turns out, Captain Ukren Schwerter is also looking into them. This group apparently has existed for a while, and are quite paradoxical; some see them as liberators, other as scourges. But it is known that they often fight against cults of unknown and odd gods, supposedly to fight off "The End", whatever that means. The Midnight Sun agreed to look into them, but they'd need to switch their approach as apparently, they are quite dangerous, as the research into Philomena's research had shown. They also talked a bit about Thalryn Noctis, asking the party to take care of him; turns out Thanryn is one of their many siblings; not as close as Ylos, their twin, but a sibling and creation of Maralee Shadish nonetheless.
Upon leaving, Volk stayed behind for a bit and also asked the Midnight Sun to look into Illiadian ruins, to which they agreed. He then showed them their true form, much to their slight discomfort, though they did now realize that the fairy tales they found in Medweda were about him.
After shopping for some poisoners kits and pastries, the party walked back home; helping a Gnome man find love with an Elf woman along the way. Dareth asked Philomena to show her how to properly use his new revolver, and the two trained a bit at the Adventurer's Guild HQ, with Edver Moonmore watching and teasing Dareth a bit. The party them returned home and went to bed.
The next day, the party heard the ring of their Questboard-bell, and took on their new quest, and the party went on their way; after a relatively uneventful day and night, the party went offroad a little bit to go from Bilferste to Doiry, on their way to Sligac, without going to Dunfael. There, Mikhail noticed some footprints on the ground; apparently gnoll- and hyena-like. Sooty remembered hearing that some gnolls hunt with demonic, poisonous hyena-creatures known as Shoosuva, worrying the party a bit. The party decided to continue that away, stealthily, eventually seeing several figures in the distance. Volk transformed, using his newfound moonlight-ena to cover the party, and they indeed found several gnolls and a Shoosuva feasting on two human corpses.
An ambush was sprung, as Sooty casted Fireball and Mikhail used his Lightning Bolt, surprising the gnolls and starting combat.
SESSION END.
