A Jesnite Corridor is a magical gateway that connects one location to another. Currently, creation, operation, and maintenance of these corridors is a secret kept jealously by the Elvar, and even amongst themselves, it is highly prized information available only to the most accomplished of scholars who need to know. They are extremally expensive. It takes a lot of Jesnite to create them, and a lot of Jesnite to maintain them. Due to the expendable nature of Jesnite, a corridor is only good for a certain number of uses, and it periodically needs its Jesnite parts replaced to maintain operation. As such, personal travel by Jesnite Corridor is generally more expensive than travel by sea.
The Corridors can also be unreliable and even dangerous. Sometimes they don't work, and it takes days for the experts to figure out why. When this happens, you walk through the corridor and come back out right where you entered. Many travelers through the corridors experience a phenomenon called "corridor sickness" which manifests as intense fatigue, insomnia, lack of appetite, and shakes for 2-3 days. On rare occasions, bad things happen: a person travels through a corridor and disappears, never to be seen again. Sometimes, everything but the living creatures that go through disappear, leaving everyone naked and empty-handed. There have also been reports of sudden, unexplained death while walking through the corridor, though this most often happens to livestock and is uncommon in people. Strangely, holders of Ethereum shards have never been reported to experience adverse effects. As the Elvar continue to conduct their research, they hope to resolve these issues.
The Jesnite Corridor is a rounded passageway eight feet in diameter and about thirty feet long. The inner walls of the corridor are lined with solid bricks of whitish clear Jesnite crystal. It's hard to tell how thick the walls are, but they have a faint glow, as if there is a light source a few layers in. Other than this, the appearance of the corridor doesn't appear magical at all. There's nothing special about the entrance or exit. You simply walk through, and then you are somewhere else, though you wouldn't know just by looking at it.
The hub of all Jesnite Corridors is located in Umbryx. From there, one can travel to Ebonryft and all of the other The Nocturnal Colonies.
