Properties

This compendium took many forms over the centuries: an ever-unfurling scroll, a tome of limitless pages, an orb of rotating sigils and writings. The form always fit the will of the wielder, as did the information within. The Infinite Scroll acted as a documentation of all recorded history and a progression of magical research, collected and added to from archmages of every age.

While you are holding this compendium, you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells, and you gain a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your wizard spells.

History of the World. This tome contained the personal records of every historical event witnessed by the mage who wielded this book. You gain proficiency and expertise in Intelligence (History) checks when referencing the records within. Included in this tome are the personal writings of many archmages of historical significance: Solithar, Ronin, Caen Zauber.

Additionally, you can cast Legend Lore without expending a spell slot. Once you use this ability, you cannot do so until the next dawn. Any information gleaned in this spell is recorded in the Infinite Scroll automatically.

Absorb Knowledge. Immediately after a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you casts a spell of 1st level or higher, you can use your reaction to make an Intelligence (Arcana) check. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the spell is magically added to the book in your own notation for the next minute. You must be holding the book to use this property. If the added spell is a wizard spell and of a level for which you have spell slots, you can prepare this spell just like your other spells. If the spell is not a wizard spell, its notation is garbled and impossible to use. Once this property has been used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

The outline of the spell remained, and can be transcribed using the appropriate copying spell rules. The gold and time you must spend to copy any spell into your spellbook is halved regardless of school.

Shift Knowledge. While using this book as your spellbook, you can replace up to 3 spells from your prepared list of spells when you finish a short rest. Once this property has been used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.
