Dormant State
While you are holding this leather-bound book, you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells, and you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your wizard spells.
You can use this book as a spellbook. In addition, when you use your Arcane Recovery feature, you can increase the number of spell slot levels you regain by 1. When you prepare spells using the tome, the number of spells you can prepare increases by 1.
Attunement is required to wield this item and attunement will reveal that there may be more to this item in time.
Awakened State
The bonus to spell attack rolls, and saving throw DCs of your wizard spells increases from +1 to +2.
When you prepare spells using the tome, the number of spells you can prepare increases by 1 (on top of the Dormant State increase).
While you carry the tome, you have advantage on saving throws made against spells and other magical effects.
Exalted State
The bonus to spell attack rolls, and saving throw DCs of your wizard spells increases from +2 to +3.
When you prepare spells using the tome, the number of spells you can prepare increases by 1 (on top of the Dormant and Awakened State increases).
