Varla Stone

Varla stones are white, glowing magical stones with a metal inlay at their base. Created from meteoric glass; fragments of Aetherius that fell to Nirn as shooting stars, these objects are, like Welkynd Stones used as light sources in Ayleid cities. More valuable and less valuable for different reasons than Welkynd Stones, Varla Stones still possess an inherent connection to magic.

While a Welkynd gives off a soft/dull glow of a bluish tone, the white glow of a Varla Stone is much more potent.

One who possesses a Varla Stone can, once a day, activate the stone to expand light to a 30 ft. range of Bright Light, and a 30 ft. range of Dim Light beyond that. The light of a Varla Stone pierces through magical darkness.

Otherwise, the magic of a Varla Stone can be consumed by a wielder to restore expended spell slots. In which case, roll 5d4+10. The results of this roll can be used to restore expended spell slots in the same way as Mana Potion. When used in this way, the Varla Stone shatters.
