The Slayer's Axe was forged within the very fires of the Deadlands, though not at the behest of Mehrunes Dagon, but in contention of him. Made of Ebony, and enchanted with Daedric magics, it is a most infernal-looking weapon. Infused with gems of the Deadlands encompassing the rage of Mehrunes Dagon's displeasure, it is said to brim with flames and hate.
Dormant State
This weapon counts as a +1 magical weapon, granting a +1 bonus to your attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. Additionally, this weapon grants a +1 bonus to your HP for every level you have gained.
On a successful hit, this weapon deals an additional 1d6 fire damage.
Whenever you deal at least 20 damage with this weapon, you regain 1d10 hit points as it feeds on the very souls of your foes.
While attuned to this weapon, you gain access to the cantrip Green-Flame Blade and Searing Smite. You may use Searing Smite twice per day. Any spell save DCs are based on your Strength.
You gain advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks.
Awakened State
This weapon upgrades from a +1 to a +2 weapon. Additionally, this increase affects the HP boost.
Bonus damage on a successful hit increases from 1d6 to 2d6.
Whenever you deal at least 20 points of damage with this weapon, the healing gained becomes 1d10 plus your class level.
Your use of Searing Smite becomes equal to your proficiency bonus.
You gain resistance to fire damage.
You gain advantage on saving throws made against the Frightened condition.
Exalted State
This weapon upgrades from a +2 to a +3 weapon. Additionally, this increase affects the HP boost.
Bonus damage on a successful hit increases from 2d6 to 3d6.
Whenever you deal at least 20 points of damage with this weapon, the healing gained becomes 1d10 plus your class level and your Strength modifier.
You gain access, additionally, to the Steel Wind Smite spell, usable twice per day.
Your resistance becomes immunity to fire damage. Additionally, once per day when you finish a long rest, you may choose one additional damage type to gain resistance to. This resistance ends when another long rest is taken.
