Motorcade of Generosity

March 2, 2022

Blood Demands Blood

Juro showed up at Kasuga's Lab with several other young men and demanded that he turn over the person responsible for his comrade's death the other day. Instead Kasuga Osamu threw a shuriken through his hand and offered to instruct any of the others who wanted to learn. He left swearing, "This isn't over!"

Dragons Chasing Dragons

Togashi Tenko spent time investigating opium dens in the Crab Caves neighborhood of the Fisherman Quarter. Fire Eaters appeared to be collecting protection money from the establishments she visited, but she was unable to observe them supplying opium. Though several addicts inquired about Blue Flame, the proprietors loudly insisted that it was for sale by them. It appears the Bigger has prohibited its sale and dealers are wary of being seen openly trading in it. Finding it was much easier in the North Rim.

Days of Generosity

During the celebration of the Days of Generosity Ichiro Bando was selected by the will of Daikoku to serve as King of Generosity, and many gifts were exchanged.

Akodo

Gifts Given

Bayushi Otado: An ornate set of golden armor. It’s actually practically worthless like it just looks really badass and even the ornamentation is just a facade.

Mirumoto: Tsuba with paired Lion and Dragon, ornamented with Topaz and Emeralds.

Magistrates and Yoriki: Jitte with an emerald pommel.

Gifts Received

Akodo Sakura: A nice writing set
Akodo Ume: An umbrella painted with one of her poems (“The winds blow the saplings to and fro. Branches bend and snap. The ancient oak stands resolute and continues to grow.”)
Ikoma Yoriko: Omiyage of Oiku melon manju
Bayushi Korechika: A silver gaijin coffee service. (“You seem to have a taste for… foreign flavors.”)
Doji Sukemara: A very high quality Go set
Usagi Kamahime: A decorative silver comb (“I’m sure you’ll find something to do with it.”)

Ichiro

Mirumoto: A fancy Gaijin duelist hat
Akodo: a selection of famous Rokugani love poems he can try out on Emily

Iuchi Sadako: A bottle of Friendly Traveler sake

During the Festival

  • Ichiro Taiki became deeply intoxicated and fell off of a bridge into the pond. He was stumbling about bleeding from his nose when he was escorted back to the Magistrate Residence before he could cause further embarassment to himself or others.
  • There was a good deal of talk concerning an upcoming poetry and music competition. Most notably that Bayushi Kachiko will be attending. If this even is a success perhaps this could attract such luminaries as Doji Hoturi or even the Emperor's son, Unknown!
  • At one point Shosuro Jocho and Bayushi Korechika headed down a secluded path. Shortly afterwards raised voices were heard from that direction.
  • Usagi Kamahime accidentally ran full-tilt into Bayushi Otado. The latter took this as an excuse to question whether the ronin even belonged at the event and disparaged her now disgraced and dissolved clan. Kamahime was unable to control herself and answered his insult by hitting him across the face with the newly-gifted jitte in her obi. Ichiro was able to intervene and prevent Otado from drawing his katana as Akodo helped to separate the pair of enraged nemeses.
