A private researcher within the Grand Order of Wizards, Fizzlewort (real name Professor Br'no Ab) is the former employer of Bel Kuko, and passed away of natural causes prior to the start of A Short Month. Despite his being deceased before the start of the story he is the main driving force of the plot due to his decision to have Bel tested by the Order as part of his will.
