Sword Coast North

The Sword Coast North is the region of the Sword Coast north of Waterdeep. Most "civilized" people consider the Sword Coast to end at Waterdeep and the Sword Coast North as an entirely different region. The Sword Coast North is known for having a harsher environment and terrain, much less political stability and economic development, and an alarmingly high abundance of threats from monsters, hordes, and magical phenomena. This reputation has not been improved since the near total destruction of two of the major settlements in the Sword Coast North, Neverwinter and Luskan.
