Wood Elves, also known as Copper Elves in common or Or'Tel'Quessir in elven, are the most populous of the elven species. Wood Elves primarily live in large forests and view themselves as protectors of the forests and the elven settlements within them. Unlike other elven species, wood elves view themselves as a part of all of the peoples living in Faerûn rather than as a separate (and often superior) elven entity.
