House Markand is a relatively new house, whose family was granted lands after their support of King Valen II’s failed war against Drench. They are a quiet house with a small presence in Glimring, preferring to stay in their native lands by the western sea. Their current hold, a shell keep in Farview-by-the-Sea, is responsible for the security of the Western Coast.
The current Lady is Madhan the Fair who took over for her brother, Daetha Markand, falling ill of some unknown curse. This only recently happened after the untimely death of his father, Bekket Markand. Madhan has appointed her cousin, Duarin Steeleye, to watch over the keep in Farview while she maintains a manor in Port Westwail.
While they are considered minor nobility, they hold title through the knighthood of their great grandfather, Dillot "Greycrow" Markand, an adventurer who helped chart the coastline at great personal peril. And the people of the coast are quite loyal as they've always been a fair and generous family.
