The space left behind by the seemingly failed ritual of the city Mages has come to be known as the Runehollow. In this massive crater, for a short time, time itself was warped, and in it arose a massive column of earth and upon it, a dark castle.
At first, the citizens of the city were terrified and it led to a vast purge and hatred of magic users. But when the miasma around the crater settled, one Davian Iscarus, known as the Lord High Commander descended from the keep to vow and restore order to the territories. His timing was perfect, at the citizens had been terrified of the world to come. And his sway over them was immense, a populist general swearing that no more chaos would cause pain to the citizens of Glimring.
The Runehollow still has flickers of magic emanating from it, and it remains difficult to pierce its veil, a place stuck between two worlds. But few question it, glad for the order brought back to the previously fractured capital.
