Folkstand - SW Region

Explore

As one travels West out of the Folkstand - SE Region, the lands become increasingly hostile until they meet the sea.

Here is the home of the Sessundi, the Hulundi, and to the far north, the beginnings of the Wildkin (a mixture of barbaric humans, orcs, hobgoblins, and the "Blood-Drink Elves" who ruthlessly hunt down any Dwarves they encounter). Here too are the Stonewound Mountains, Mournhollow hills, and the Westhold Badlands, a mixture of scrubland and blighted plains from some ancient evil. All of these locations contain dangerous creatures often hunted by the bravest or foolish adventurers. Significant ruins exist here as well: Brinewell ruins (a former fishing village overrun by Sahuagin), Raintower Ruin (a wizard's tower filled with corrupt magic), and Greyhaunt (a ghost-infested manor of a once-important nobleman).

Not all is horror, however, as there are a few insular fishing communities along the rocky shores that have thrived despite the wounds inflicted on the land. Netwash is a community of scavenger folk subsisting on crustaceans they fish from the shores. Minnow Mire is a relatively thriving thorp, with several small fishing boats. The survivors of the attack on Brinewell populate Brinestep. And Driftend is the terminus of a western trail for those seeking sea passage; it has a pier and warehouses unique to a village of its size, and occasionally, there are boats for hire there.
