Pre End (PE)

Before the End humans calculated their timeline by something called the Gregorian calendar, it is unknown who or what Gregor was. But it have had a remarkable effect on how humans see the span of their years. 

The Following Era starts at the early foundation of humans as a space faring race with their first steps taken in the 20th century and their journey to the start of the End 

  • Industrialization of Space

    21st to 22th Century

    Humanity is still taking its first steps into space exploration with reusable rockets and increasing private sector involvement.

    Expansion into Earth orbit and Luna .

    Construction of space stations, start of asteroid mining, and initial forays into Mars colonization.

    pre-skim Ship engines (nuclear propulsion, ion drives, etc.) dominate space travel.

  • First Interstellar Exploration:

    22th to 23rd Century

    Early interstellar probes are sendt to Alpha Centauri and beyond using slow but sophisticated sublight drives.

    Terraforming of Maerth begins with human technology but progresses slowly.

    Humans detect skim-space and realize they can use it for long distance communication and detection, a version of Skim-Sign and the Sign array is created, the fear of communication delays and isolation is avoided, increases human presence in the solar system. 

  • First contact

    23rd to 24th Century

    Skim-Sign sensors are able to detect by-products of FTL phenomena, and is able to locate the Voyager Probes, which humans have lost contact  with. The Voyager's expected position is vastly changed, hinting at alien or unforeseen interference.

    A Sign array equipped sub-light mission is sent to investigate the Voyager anomaly and encounters the Kzak, marking humanity's First Contact with sentient Alien lifeforms.

    Wave Skim-Drive technology is acquired through trade, advancements in Skim-Sign or reverse-engineered alien tech.

    Interstellar travel becomes viable, sparking humanity's Golden Age of expansion.

  • Mars the second home

    25th-26th Century

    Mars, is Terraformed and becomes near Earth-like with the help of alien assistance, roughly 30% of humans live on Mars, while 10-20% live in colonies or outside of the Soul-system.

    Humanity spreads further, adapting to life among the stars.

  • The Human Intersolar War

    28th Century

    A catastrophic Great Intersolar War that lasts nearly a century, The various allied Human Factions manage to seize a pyric Victory but the Earth is destroyed and becomes inhospitable and fractures humanity's unity but not its spirit. 

    Trough sheer tenacity humanity endures all throughout the Soul-system and beyond, Mars becomes Humanitys new homeworld and is renamed Maerth. 

  • Humanity as an Interstellar Species

    ~30th-50th Century

    Technological advancements enable vast interstellar colonies and grand projects, but humanity remains culturally grounded in remembrance of Earth.

    Humans have accived contact with most Sentient Aliens of the Orion Spur, humanity's relation to them is as varied as the relations between countries of Earth. 
    Tensions with alien species and internal strife persist, but conflict are mostly a thing of the past, only seen on disputed frontier colonies and in proxy wars. 

The End (End)

It is unknown when the End Happened, only that it happened in three sequences between the 40th and 60th century 

  • The end has Come

    The last flicker of the dying stars mark year 0 in the new post-end calendar
