Deimos, Maerth's second and smalest moon, holds a old and deep cultural significance for the Afri-Zen Synthocracy. Originally a mining outpost in the early days of humanity's expansion into space, it became a refuge and foundation for the early asteroid mining communities of Humanity's Asian and African labor forces. In the harsh vacuum of space, these miners developed a resilient, cooperative society enhanced by primitive voidhardened Cybernetics that laid the groundwork for the Synthocracy’s values of technological advancement mixed with its more traditional roots.

Today, Deimos stands as a revered site, dotted with ancient foundries, empty mines turned to memorials to fallen pioneers, and sanctuaries carved directly into the rock. Massive stone-like reliefs and glowing monoliths inscribed with the names of early leaders and workers mark the surface. Though no longer a major industrial hub, Deimos serves as a spiritual and symbolic heart of the Afri-Zen people—a reminder of their shared hardships and triumphs in space.
